At Home In ColoradoWrite a Note to Jeremy & Barbara...they would love to hear from you!!
19 March Spring has arrived in SW Colorado
So it appears that Spring has arrived in Cortez. The weather has been absolutely beautiful if not unusually warm for March...but who's complaining!! Lyndi and I were able to enjoy sunshine on Saturday and made a trip to Sand Canyon for a hike, if you have ever been to Sand Cayon you know that the tails are not maked very well, but they do mark where they don't want you to walk...isn't that a little bit backwards?? Anyway after wandering around a bit and pretending like we knew where we were going when some people looked at us like we were crazy...we finally found a trail to follow. We ran into a couple of other people hiking, they were headed the opposite direction, which makes us think that maybe we were going the wrong way on the trail...but no bother....we just kept truckin' along. It was a nice, easy hike - which was good because this was our first hike of the year and after sitting for most of the winter, neither of us were ready for alot of hills. Eventually we ended up on the main trail and then in my infinate wisdom I suggested we take the trail that looked easier...well it took us to the fence line of the park property and we ended up hiking a lot farther then we would have needed to, but who knew? We had a lot of fun together and finished off our hike by going to eat a big lunch at Tequila's!!
![]() 6 March Rock Show Junkies
James and I drove to Colorado Springs this weekend to go see the Winter Jam Spectacular concert...it is about ten Christian bands preforming together. We got to see Sanctus Real, Hawk Nelson, New Song, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jeremy Camp...they all did a great job and the show was fantastic. It was James first experience at a 'real' concert, so for most of it he looked a little freaked out!! But he had a lot of fun. We got to stay with Erica in Colorado Springs and we had the honor of being her first house guests in her new apartment!! Yeah! She has a nice apartment and an adorable kitty. She was a wonderful host and took us to Garden of the Gods on Sunday...WOW!! That place is beautiful and on Sunday the sky was clear and bright blue so the rocks were glowing!! It was awesome. We watched some poor souls try to get their rock climbing rope down off a rock they had terrible luck with it and didn't get it down.
13 February Valentines everywhereHOPE VALENTINES FINDS YOU WELL & WITH PEOPLE YOU LOVE!!!
JEREMY, WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU!
15 January Wintery WeekendWhat an amazing weekend, we finally got some snow!! The other snow storms we were supposed to get missed us and instead pelted Denver and Albq. So we were pretty excited to wake up to fresh snow on Sat and Sun. Yeah!! With the snow came some pretty chilly weather so we haven't been out to play in it much. Josh & Jesse had a snow fight at the park with some of their friends, but so far I haven't braved it yet. I don't know something about having to pull out all my snow gear, put it on, and then try to maneuver myself while in the snow, only to get hit with snowballs or be thrown in the snow by my brothers - it just doesn't appeal to me much anymore!! Please pray that my desire to go and play in the snow will return!!
Mom and I have discovered the key to a good night sleep: Drink Chamomile Tea before bed, it really relaxes you. Thought I'd just throw that in for fun!
Jeremy Update: I received an email from him this weekend. He is doing well and was very excited to get to see some camels! He also has run into some of his old buddies and he said he heard more were on the way. He is doing really good and has been able to keep Barbara updated and calls us when he gets a moment. Thanks for praying for him. If you want to write him an email or just leave a note here is where you can:

2 January **2007**So here is my resolution for the new year...be a better blogger. I feel it's my duty now that Jeremy is headed over to the Middle East. I think this is probably the easiest way to keep everyone up to date besides emailing. I have set up a spot on the blog for everyone to leave notes for Jeremy & Barbara, I think that right now it is so very important for us to try to encourage them as much as possible. With them living far away from everyone I know that sometimes they don't realize that there are a lot of people praying for them. So if you get a chance please leave a note.
Our biggest news is that Jeremy is headed over to Kuwait on January 3rd, 2007 and then after a month he will head into Iraq. This is going to be a long, tough year for all of us, especially Jeremy & Barb, but we believe God ordains everything for a reason and this too is for the glory of God. So we hold on to the promises of God and trust in who God is.
I'll update as we get more info...
Happy New Year!! |
